Back From Trip
Here is HH's bike, the one in the middle with just headlamp and crash bars showing, plus saddlebags. This is the destination of his weekend ride, where all the ribs barbecuing took place, except the real destination was twisty roads to ride on, and he said they were GREAT. The bikes have changed some since the old days. Got to GO now.

GO?
It looks like HH had fun! Do you get to go on these adventures?
I did a lot more Going before DD, but yes, I do. I did not go on this particular adventure.
I've never much been into these bikes with so much stuff on them. I never even wanted a backrest...do you remember? I understand the need for saddlebags when traveling and a faring for wind, but I much prefer the bikes that "look" like motorcycles.
Twisty roads are great...it's been awhile for me too.
Dear Mrs. Staggs, Oh, the good old days. Yes, just for cuteness, I like plain motorcycles. I do like HH's soft saddlebags which he takes off and throws over whatever he's riding if he needs stuff. They are so versatile and functional, and I'd already gotten tired of his leather horse saddlebags that we used to use on his nice bare HD, the v. fun 1000 Suzuki GL that ate up the back tires and the v. nice good old bare Gold Wing. But I tell you what! I enjoy the ride a lot more if there's a sissy bar, and I've always got HH in front of me blocking the wind, but sometimes a nice wind screen can make the ride much nicer if it's not perfect weather, and he's got lots of those unobtrusive little clear ones. If it's cold, and HH rides ALL YEAR and daily, ALL WEATHER, a bit of wind protection is a V. Good thing. It looks like he didn't use one last weekend, and when it was POURING RAIN one would have come in handy, but during the perfect weather, it would have been an insult.
Once, on one of our cross country trips, we ran into a gorgeous couple on a gorgeous BMW wearing gorgeous matching leather outfits, and they were on the same sort of trip we were on, except we had a big duffle bag strapped to the back of the sissy bar with tent, sleeping bags, pots and stove, and they were staying in resorts and had shipped boxes of clothes to their final destination and we just had what clothes we could cram into our little horsey saddlebag--one bag for him, and one for me, with tools thrown in the bottom taking up some of the room, and rain gear, too. Yes, I was jealous. You had a tent; where did you put it?
Hmmm, I think we did the duffle bag thing on the back until we bought the BMW, then we had those nice slim profile saddlebags that looked like suitcases. The BMW in the garage has similar saddlebags but they seem to stick out a little more. It also has a much smaller faring than the old bike. Very sporty and unfortunately all the wind it blocks comes right over Mr. Staggs and hits me. Very interesting aerodynamics. Everyone loves the sporty look of this bike, but it's much less comfortable for the passenger.
P.S. I do have an electric mitre saw. Mr. Staggs has said he will teach me to use it, but so far he always says sometime. I finally asked him if he thought I might hurt myself with it and he said maybe. But he lets the son use it 'cause he took classes at school and used even more dangerous machine shop sorts of tools.
Hi! Thanks for your comment on my new blog. My English grammar isn't very good, so I hope you don't pay to mutch attention to that. Your blog looks very cool.
It's about 1500km from Olso to my favorite place. My cousin lives in Oslo, but he use to come to this plase every summer.
I wish I also had a motorbike. I use to drive with my brother in law, it's very funny.
