What do You Say?

This is HH's bike in Mill Valley taken during his fall trip to San Fransisco.

How do you refer to ex-presidents of the USA? What title do you use? Please tell me. (Of course, if you don't talk about them, tell me what you think you might use IF you talked about them.) I want to know.

I thought once a president, always a president. I was surprised to hear someone on the tv refer to 'Mr. Ford' and not 'President Ford.'

I, too, was surprised by such a reference on a news story during Good Morning America. That's what made me ask. Thank you.

Well, it depends on the President! LOL! I'm with Miss Mary Land, I've always thought the proper title is President.
This has me thinking once again about my pet peeve. Have you ever noticed how most men politicians are referred to by the media and many reputable journalists by their titles, but many of the women are only mentioned by their first names? Especially Hillary Clinton and Condoleeza Rice. I think it is disrespectful.

Here in UK we tend to refer to them as "ex president Ford".

HH don't leave much room on the back for you, does he?

It's been very consistant by CBS news anchors, Mr. Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush.

I hear Hillary and Condoleeza a lot, now you mention it.

No room for me, I had to stay home and feed the chickens.
