Am I Still Here?

Yikes! Well, I'd just better say something and be on my way. Hello. I'm better, and farther behind, but haven't written my To Do list, so not getting anything done. HH and DD are having similar production problems. Maybe it's somthing in the air? In case you wonder, "What's that?" It's a cute little teeny tiny bike that HH is working on for someone else. I think he told me it's called a Shortster. Tee Hee. A pun. Get it? I'm going to write down To Do's (in my To Do notebook, not here, as that would just get me into more trouble.)

Ah. Now I think I would like you two to meet each other. avus, meet michael smith (whose favorite book is lord of the rings and he's running for president of the USA, and though he doesn't like motorcycles, he does like bicycles, and he plays tuba really really well) and michael smith, meet avus (who does like motorcyles and can quote from the Lord of the Rings books and dresses like a Roman soldier and still rides his classic bicycle.)

Avus, I had to look up Ashford, but I see it's not too far from Maldon in Essex. We spent a great weekend camping in an apple orchard with others from the British Chesapeake Bay Retreiver Club several years ago.

One of my favorite trips was to the north where we explored from Edinburgh down to York, then a stop at Alton Towers before catching the ferry back to Ireland. We stopped at Hadrian's Wall and explored the ruins of the fort at Chesters.

Great to meet you, Michael (and thank you, Vita, for the introductions). You sound like the most "human" politician I have come across for a great while (checked out your website). Do you think you could come over to England again and stand for Prime Minister? We could do with some humanity and "small government".

Well I'm glad you are still there...you are, aren't you?
I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better. It's an awful time to be ill isn't it? So much to do.

hhnb, Do you decorate with lights down there? I suspect such a brilliant brain doesn't require written lists. Do you have a swamp cooler? (Fan, bowl of water kind of thing.) It's so much easier to do things when there's a bit of breeze. Your bug gauntlet story to mail box frightened me!

And Mrs. Staggs, I see you and dear Patty have sent your cards. I suspect mine will be New Year Christmas cards. I feel great, as I hope you will soon.

Hi v. Yes christmas lights go up in town in Nov. I think. They are often the lights that have been used in London!
House owners now go beserk covering their houses with lights too.

Swap cooler, sound a great idea, but we have split system air con. When we arrived in Oz the house had no air con...the first summer I has crushing headaches and was hell to live with! We put air con in the bedroom ( all we could afford then), so there was one cool room. Then a year later a huge system went in the sitting room! I have adapted a little better now and cope with the heat. The flies though? Another story!!!
