Lots of Motorcycles

The poor fellow is getting bored from having a broken leg, so to amuse himself, he buys motorcycles. I think we're up to 17. Just Tuesday we drove off to Stayton where he bought a CB900 with a dual speed differential, which you can read about here, http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/honda/honda_cb900c%2082.htm -I don't know how to be fancy about it. He bid on a scooter for me, but so far they're not impressed with the offer. He is hoping to be back at work before the month is out. I don't think there's room for more bikes. Maybe he'll go buy a barn next.

His mother is 90, and thanks to her ear doctor, she can hear again. He put tubes in her ears, but because he also had a motorcycle land on him after putting him in a ditch, she had to wait 6 weeks while he healed. He had so many more things broken than Himself, but is 30 years younger and heals faster. He and his assistant are quite excellent, and knew how I could help and how to communicate that to me. Just me holding her head and petting her made a huge difference, or so she said later. It was harrowing for her because she had to stay quite still and with a guy poking things in your ears, that's a hard thing to do. I was very proud of her.

That is wonderful news about the her improved hearing. My dad has hearing aids now, but they make him nuts, so he doesn't wear them.....so, we're all a little nuts now and then, from having to repeat everything!

That's a lot of motorcycles! I hear tha HH is better now. That is good news.

You thought that my pic (of a little pink flower, growing in an unexpected place) looked like a pansy. It does. But up close, it doesn't. Still unknown, but sweet.

And my Daughter-in-law next door, found a little pink flower, growing in an unexpected place, on her property. :-)))))))))))) Oh and her's does not look like ours, other than being pink. :-))))

17 motorcycles! Yikes! That adds up to being really, really, really bored with a broken leg. ,-) Hope it heals quickly, for his sake and for yours. -giggles-

How wonderful for his mother, and her hearing being restored. Super! 'Cause as Lena said, hearing aids aren't always easy to live with. -sigh- So, they aren't always used. (Guilty as charged, I fear.)

Lena, Yes! He Himself is back at work, and has 10 days of work, counting today, before he retires! Yes, I'm counting the days.

Auntie, I thought the pansy differences may be due to its stunted condition? I think flowers can just morph into new flowers they're not even related to. (I had an impatiens that gradually morphed into a begonia, and changed color from bright coral to pale peach.) (Unless my mom was playing tricks on me and switched out my starts.)

Hope he is now properly back on two feet, Vita.

Your post about life as a child on a farm went towards inspiring my latest post.

Eighteen motorcycles.

Just finished "Little Britches", Vita. Thanks for the recommendation. Wonderful story and in parallel with my recommended book "Country Boy" as to date and circumstance. But how totally different and indicative of rural Colorado rather than rural England!
I had wet eyes after reading the last paragraph.
